On Sunday, October 11, The East Bay Area Community showed up — and it showed up big.

More than 200 vintage cars and trucks and over 500 spectators rolled out for the Built to Beat Cancer Car Show, hosted by Purpose-Built alongside our friends at Luxurious Car Club & Diamond Hills Sports Club. Lowriders, hot rods, restored work trucks, and garage-built classics lined up side by side, and every engine that turned over that day did it for something bigger than a trophy.

This wasn't just a car show. It was a community deciding, together, that nobody fights alone.

Why We Rolled

Every October, Purpose-Built goes all in on Built to Beat Cancer. Cancer doesn't care what trade you're in, what you drive, or where you're from. It hits our crews, our customers, and our families. Built to Beat Cancer is how we fight back the way the trades always have: by showing up, putting in the work, and having each other's backs.

The car community gets that better than anyone. These are people who spend years bringing something back to life, one bolt at a time. That same grit filled the lot in Oakley.

Standing With Two Families

This year's show carried a heavier purpose. Our community recently lost two Liberty high school seniors in a tragic car accident — two young people with their whole lives ahead of them, and two families now facing a loss no parent should ever know.

We couldn't let the day pass without standing with them. Entry fees from the show are going to support these families as they carry the weight of the weeks ahead. To every driver who registered, every parent who brought their kids, and every neighbor who stopped by to show love: you made sure those families know their community has them.

A Match That Doubles the Impact

A huge thank-you to Gino's Automotive, who stepped up to match every dollar of entry fees raised at the show. Every registration effectively counted twice. That's what real partnership looks like: not a logo on a banner, but skin in the game when it matters.

And to Luxurious Car Club: thank you for co-hosting, rallying your network, and bringing the kind of energy and pride that turned a parking lot into one of the best days of the year. We're proud to roll with you.

By the Numbers

  • 200+ vintage cars and trucks on display
  • 500+ spectators through the gates
  • 100% of entry fees matched by Gino's Automotive
  • 1 community, all in

We'll share the final total once the match is complete.

Keep the Fight Going

The show wrapped, but Built to Beat Cancer runs all October. You can keep the momentum going by grabbing gear from our Built to Beat Cancer collection at any of our eight Purpose-Built stores or online at Purpose-Built.com. Every piece you wear is a statement that this community fights cancer together.

Thank You, Brentwood & Oakley

Purpose-Built is family owned and operated, and our mission has never changed: make each trade and community stronger. On October 11, you showed exactly what that looks like.

To the drivers, the clubs, the volunteers, our partners, our team, and every family who walked the lot: thank you. We'll see you next year — and we'll bring even more chrome.

Built to Beat Cancer. Built for Community. Purpose-Built.
