CMR is a third-party logistics company that helps businesses deliver and store products. In the logistics industry, tracking your trucks and parcels quickly and accurately is the lifeblood of business success. Driven by the importance of tracking, CMR engaged Purpose/Built to devise a digital solution that could transform their traditional operations to a more efficient forward-thinking model. Evolving beyond traditional infrastructure would help CMR manage their day-to-day operations and foster a technology-driven workforce.
The critical piece to the project was re-planning the entire tracking infrastructure without interrupting day-to-day operations or the smooth running of the business. We analyzed all of CMR’s departments to understand their current practices and came up with a project plan that could bring the company to the forefront of digital logistics solutions with minimal impact during implementation.
Truckforce is a customized logistics solution that helps CMR manage their transport bookings, driver assignments and trip routes. It can recognize conflicts and send alerts to immediately resolve complications. It helps the operations and customer service teams of CMR to better communicate with customers and other stakeholders.
Each confirmed trip is supported by a Job Order Sheet used for internal tracking and forecasting. It documents what roles are being undertaken and how long processes take. The system also covers the issuing of invoices by linking to CMR’s accounting software, enabling convenient and precise billing.
The system has been successfully implemented at all department levels and is continuously updated to ensure it is compatible with the latest in digital tracking technology.
